Sidsel Wold is a foreign reporter and former foreign correspondent for many years for NRK in the Middle East and Turkey.

In 1978, Sidsel Wold traveled to Israel, where she worked as a volunteer on a kibbutz for well over two years. Back in Norway, she became general manager of Norske Kibbutz Venner (NORKIV), which worked to facilitate Norwegian youth’s kibbutz stay. In the 1980s, Wold was in the process of converting to Judaism. She also got involved in the organization Med Israel for Peace, was elected to their executive board and was editor of the organization Middle East in Focus. Wold studied history, Russian and political science at the University of Oslo 1981-1987. She worked as a layout designer and journalist in Morgenbladet 1987–1988 and studied journalism at the Norwegian College of Journalism 1988-1990. Wold has lived in Israel for several periods since his time on the kibbutz in the late 1970s.

Sidsel Wold has worked in various NRK departments, both as presenter and reporter in radio. She was a freelancer for NRK in Jerusalem 2003–2004 and a foreign correspondent in the Middle East based in the same place from 2007 to 2011. In this capacity, she gave a lecture on Utøya 21 July 2011. Her last correspondent letter from Jerusalem was about The 22 July terror. From 2016 she was NRK’s ​​correspondent in Istanbul.
